چکیده
Numerical modeling of seismic response soil deposits is usually conducted as part hazard assessment, preceding facility construction in any tectonically active regions, including offshore sites. A significant feature subsea soils their porous and water-saturated structure. Thus, the purpose present study to introduce a procedure for nonlinear behavior porous, moist during SH-wave propagation, verify it compare synthetic profiles with medium parameters specific low moisture onshore high sites cohesive non-cohesive soils. The well-known approved NERA code was used basis improved incorporate Biot Gassman equations elastic waves propagation fluid-saturated solid. applicability presented approach substantiated integration into other algorithms. Obtained results showed good agreement between simulated by different methods observed spectra. also that both explained effects resonances effect amplitude saturation, which, turn, depend on corresponding value layer thickness S-wave impedance saturated layer. proposed scheme could have practical usage studying deposits.

A Numerical Evaluation of Seismic Response of Shallow Soil Deposits
This paper employs one-dimensional numerical ground response analysis models to investigate seismic response of shallow cohesive and non-cohesive soil deposits on vertical propagation of horizontal shear waves. Soil response is modelled by traditional equivalent-linear (EL) frequency-domain analysis using DEEPSOIL software and nonlinear (NL) time-domain analysis using OPENSEES software. The ana...
متن کاملRigidity and Irregularity Effect on Surface Wave Propagation in a Fluid Saturated Porous Layer
The propagation of surface waves in a fluid- saturated porous isotropic layer over a semi-infinite homogeneous elastic medium with an irregularity for free and rigid interfaces have been studied. The rectangular irregularity has been taken in the half-space. The dispersion equation for Love waves is derived by simple mathematical techniques followed by Fourier transformations. It can be seen t...
متن کاملCompressional-wave propagation in porous media saturated with two fluids
A theory of porous media with voids filled by two immiscible fluids should comply with Laplace’s law of capillary pressure at the pore level. For the convenience of practical use, it ideally should also involve only the generic elastic coefficients of the mineral grains and pore-filling fluids and avoid the use of “bulk” coefficients of the dry solid frame, whose measurement involves idealized ...
متن کاملElastic Wave Propagation at Imperfect Boundary of Micropolar Elastic Solid and Fluid Saturated Porous Solid Half-Space
This paper deals with the reflection and transmission of elastic waves from imperfect interface separating a micropolar elastic solid half-space and a fluid saturated porous solid half-space. Longitudinal and transverse waves impinge obliquely at the interface. Amplitude ratios of various reflected and transmitted waves are obtained and computed numerically for a specific model and results obta...
متن کاملWave propagation in partially saturated porous media: simulation of a second slow wave
We simulate wave propagation in a partially saturated porous medium, where the novel feature is the presence of a second slow wave due to capillary forces. The pores are filled with a wetting fluid and a non-wetting fluid, and the model, based on a Biot-type three-phase theory, predicts three compressional waves and one shear wave. Moreover, the theory models the realistic attenuation levels ob...
